About us

“Vaishnavi Friends Club” is a Social and Charitable Organisation incorporated under section 10 of the Tamilnadu Society Registration Act 1975 (Tamilnadu Act 27 of 1975). The club was founded by Mr.K.V.V.Giri a renowned person in Shipping Industry having high social responsibility with an intention to serve needy people of our society and to promote sports and cultural activities among shipping fraternity. Inspired by his noble thought many friends joined with him voluntarily to strengthen the club so as to provide more charitable activities in Chennai and suburbs.

Since the formation of the club in the year 2005, many charitable activities like providing food to the orphanages, financial assistance to students of the underprivileged section of our society, free medical camps etc., were done frequently. Further the club organized many sports activities like Chess, Badminton, Cricket tournaments for the shipping and allied agencies members, staffs and wards. Also, Vaishnavi Friends Club conducted free mega medical camp in the Custom House, Chennai in the year 2015 benefiting more than 1500 persons of Custom Brokers, Shipping agents, Freight forwarders, Custom officials & staffs, Port Trust Officials and staffs for screening for eye, ENT, blood pressure, sugar, ECG etc,.

Mr.K.Venkattu took over charge as President of the club in the year 2015 along with newly selected office bearers and Executive committee members.

“Vaishnavi Friends Club” fondly called as “VFC” has spread its wings to infuse more members from other fraternities like Freight forwarders, Transport operators, Port Trust employees, CITPL/CCPL employees, Advocates and many more and now the strength of “VFC” surpassed 150 members most of them are active.

After the new Executive Committee took charge, various sub-committees were formed like Orphanage, Education, EDI, Sports sub-Committees etc,. selecting members who voluntarily wished to take part in the activities of VFC for providing more service to needy people effectively. As suggested by the founder President Shri.K.V.V.Giri, drop boxes were placed in many office complexes to donate used clothes for distribution to orphanages. Overwhelmed response from members and general public welcomed by the club. More than the expected used clothes were received, segregated by our members and distributed to various orphanages in and around Chennai City.

By enrolling and joining in VFC, every member feels their social responsibility and also VFC is creating an opportunity get more friends from various sections of our trade so as to exchange ideas to promote their business and to lookout for more venue for doing social service in a collective manner.
